There are videos, blogs, books all containing fantastic information on the Wineries in the Hawke's Bay. Checkout the video done by Hawke's Bay Tourism... giving an overview of many cellar doors of the Gimblett Gravels area, approximately 25 minutes drive from the cottages. The closest vineyards to the cottages are along the Te Awanga Coastline; Beach House, Elephant Hill, Clearview, and Te Awanga Estate. Clearview's 'Sea Red' is a favourite of ours as an after dinner nightcap, or perfect when watching the sun go down on the beach. I have described this bottle to many guests, and near dribble as I speak about it... its a bit of a cross between a port and a white sticky... a beautiful rich red in colour. Yum!
